Stephenie Meyer fans will be pleased to hear that the authors other best-selling novel is being adapted into a motion picture by Open Road Films. The Host is a different take on extraterrestrial life where invaders have taken over the human population by using their bodies as a host cell. Their minds are lost to the new invading “soul”, but their bodies remain in tact. Usually, the previous soul is gone forever, but in The Host, Melanie Stryder refuses to leave. Fighting against Melanie, Wanderer has to battle to take over her new host body. Due to her feelings, thoughts, and emotions being tied to Melanie’s, they both share the same feeling of love for Melanie’s true love, Jared . In a split-personality search for their one true love, the two souls in one go through the dangerous journey to find him. The film stars Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, The Lovely Bones), Max Irons (Red Riding Hood), Jake Abel (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Bastards), William Hurt (Robin Hood), Boyd Holbrook (Milk), and Frances Fisher (The Lincoln Lawyer), and will be directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time).
