TED Sets an R-Comedy Record and MAGIC MIKE Makes More Than Dollars in it’s Box Office Thong

TED MAGIC MIKE BOX OFFICE RECORD – Goodbye Hangover, Hello Ted! The Seth MacFarlane‘s movie debuted to a whooping $54.1 million at the domestic box office becoming the best opening ever for an original R-rated comedy (The Hangover use to hold the record for make $45 million in 2009). Also Ted became Mark Wahlberg‘s second biggest opening behind 2001′s Planet of the Apes.

Channing Tatum couldn’t beat a talking stuffed bear but he could earn $39.2 million stripping in Magic Mike. As the other R-rated movie opening this weekend, the Steven Soderbergh‘s dramedy outperformed experts expectations by a wide margin.
