PREMIUM RUSH WORLD PREMIERE (Exclusive Video) – New Yorks Regal Union Square was filled with bicycle’s for the world premiere of David Koepp‘s action Premium Rush. Stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dania Ramirez, Jamie Chung and director David Koepp attended the premiere and spoke about their characters, the story, training and shooting. Premium Rush is about the best of New York’s agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. 

On the story:

“David Koepp is such a talented writer and just how the story evolved and it’s so completed to write a script requires the end to be filmed first and the doing flash backs.” - Jamie Chung

On training:

“The movie looks like breezy fun but it was an incredible amount of work it was really hard, everybody who rode a bike in the movie had to train for it, they train not only to get into shape because in durance is key, you got to ride 10-12 hours a day and act but they ride to learn how to ride offensively.” - David Koepp

On Shooting

“I rode a bike everyday for six weeks leading up to the shoot and rode everyday while we where shooting for a couple of months and you know I bled for my art 31 stitches went through the rear windshield of a taxi cap it happens. - Joseph Gordon-Levitt

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT & DANIA RAMIREZ PREMIUM RUSH (Exclusive Video) - Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dania Ramirez star in David Koepp‘s action movie, Premium Rush. The movie  takes place on the streets of Manhattan where a bike messenger picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city. Screenslam Sat down with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dania Ramirez who spoke about the type of movie Premium Rush is, the stunts, their characters and director David Koepp shooting style in the movie.

On the Stunts:

“When your watching actual human beings do this stuff, it’ll get your heart going. I’m one if five performers that play my character theres four other guys, who all have their various skills on different bikes and in different situations. It was tougher tranning then Batman to be honest.”  - Joseph Gordon-Levitt

On David Koepp shooting style:

“It kinda goes into your psychic, like right before you make a decision you should think about all these different options and when your on a bike in New York City you have to think quickly that kinda comes cross in the way that he shot it.” - Dania Ramirez

On If the Ending was a set up:

“Honestly, I don’t think it’s necessarily a set up. I think it’s a great ending for that trilogy and even if you go back to ‘Batman Begins,’ he’s talking about how Batman is more than a man. He’s a symbol. And a hero can be anybody, and we all have heroes inside of us. That’s a theme that runs throughout the entire trilogy.”

Director David Koepp and actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dania Ramirez talk about the real life action that went into making this film. We even get footage from the Koepp’s iPhone of the aftermath of Joseph Gordon-Levitt crashing into a real NYC taxi.

Director David Koepp is working with Columbia Pictures to bring a new film that follows the life of New York City’s best agile and most agressive bike messenger, played by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as he discovers that his latest package raised the bar of danger to a whole new level.
