WINNIE TRAILER – A trailer for Darrell Roodt‘s biography/drama, Winnie has been released. The movie chronicles the life of Winnie Mandela (Jennifer Hudson) from her childhood through her marriage to Nelson Mandela (Terrence Howard) and her husband’s incarceration. The trailer starts with Winnie leaving her small home town and moving to the big city to become a social worker, it is there she meets Nelson Mandela and her life changes. The movie also stars Elias Koteas and Wendy Crewson.

PLOT: While Nelson Mandela is a universally sympathetic figure for his struggle against apartheid, his former wife is a far more complicated figure. She has been depicted as the mother and wife who was a steadfast supporter of her activist husband and who was jailed herself for campaigning for his release and fighting against apartheid. Her image was subsequently tarnished by association with a bodyguard who murdered a 14-year old alleged informer, and she was later convicted of fraud.

PLOT: As their last day on Mars draws to a close, the astronaut crew is on the verge of a major breakthrough – collected rock specimens reveal microscopic evidence of life. Meanwhile, communication is underway with AURORA, the approaching spacecraft that will relieve the crew of their operations. In their last hours on the planet, two astronauts go back to SITE 9, a cavernous valley on the surface of Mars, to collect further evidence of their discovery.
