MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS PRE-PRODUCTION – Famed relationship counselor and author, John Gray, is having his popular self-help book, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, being adapted into a movie. The book, which was published in 1992, sold over 7 million copies and spent 121 weeks on the bestseller list. Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, who both wrote and directed Can’t Hardly Wait and Josie & the Pussycats, teamed up again and have written the script. Bryan Buckley, known for his extensive and successful career in commercials, will be making his feature directorial debut. For his work in TV ads, Buckley received 37 Cannes Lions and 6 Emmy nominations. Reese Witherspoon has also jumped on aboard to headline the movie, but so far, no other stars have been announced to join.
