Rami Malek Shares About Secrecy, Paul Thomas Anderson & the Meaning of THE MASTER

RAMI MALEK THE MASTER INTERVIEW (Exclusive Video) – Super cool and great actor, Rami Malek stopped by the ScreenSlam offices in LA to talk about his latest projects. With Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master premiering at Venice and soon making it’s North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, we talked to Rami about working with writer/director Anderson and the movie. “You would show on set and all the call sheets would say Untitled Western. I think that even confused a lot of people on set. The crew was like ‘What is this all about and why are we having horses on set?'” Rami said about the secrecy. He then continued, “I got the sense very early on that this was secretive and it having to deal with Paul Thomas Anderson, I wasn’t going to open my mouth about any of it.The movie follows Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who launches a faith-based organization with his right-hand man Freddie Sutton (Joaquin Phoenix). The Master also stars Amy Adams, Jesse Plemonsa and David Warshofsky.

PLOT: Set in America in the years following World War II, a charismatic intellectual launches a faith-based organization and taps a young drifter as his right-hand man. But as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the onetime vagabond finds himself questioning the belief system he has embraced– as well as his mentor.
