ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER NEW YORK PREMIERE (Exclusive Video) – The Big Apple hosted the premiere for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and ScreenSlam spoke to the cast and crew on their excitement. Producer Tim Burton talks about how with the growing trend of vampires in film, the focus has to stay on the individual characters and different actors. As director Timur Bekmambetov spent more time on the movie, he believed he expressed himself through this project. Stars Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead also discussed preparing for the movie and getting deep into the characters.
“First, I had to lose around 30 pounds because I was big for another job…and then, went down to New Orleans, and some of the best people in the business, Justin Eaton and Don Lee, created this fighting style, taught me how to do it, and kicked my ass! And then they had balls to stand there, while I swung a rubber axe at their face.” – Benjamin Walker
“[The vampires in this movie] got a little bit of everything. They can be quite brutal, they can be quite emotional, they can be quite logical, and they actually have everything going for them, these ones.” – Tim Burton
