SCREENSLAM
Screenslam.com launched in February 2011 as an online video destination dedicated to movies and TV. It is developed and owned by ZAP Entertainment, a much-trusted, 22-year old international news operation based in Hollywood with an extensive video archive and tremendous industry access.
Screenslam began by producing original video content covering celebrity interviews, red carpet premieres, festivals, awards shows and behind-the-scenes set visits. It released its iPad app in August 2011. The app has consistently scored the highest ratings possible.
Screenslam released its Blog landing page in March 2012 allowing it to publish more content – pictures, news articles and noteworthy videos from around the web. Also in March 2012 Screenslam launched its new segment, “Which Would You Choose,” which shakes up the usual star/filmmaker TV interview format. More original entertaining formats are in the works.
Screenslam uses Akamai’s global platform of thousands of servers as the default video delivery network for both its website and iPad app. The Screenslam video player detects the bandwidth and system specs for each user automatically and adjusts the delivery bit-rate accordingly, allowing seamless video playback with minimal delays in loading and buffering.
With a private video archive of more than 20,000 titles and its cutting-edge video technology Screenslam strives to provide an unrivaled online experience. Our objective is to inform and entertain. Please tell us how we’re doing. We’d love to hear from you.
