STRONG! TRAILER (Video)- In a society that does not recognize that being thin is not synonymous with beauty, where does a strong and talented Olympic weightlifting champion take her place? Cheryl Haworth, often called the “strongest woman in the United States,” has had an amazing career. At the age of 15 she was a national champion, and at 17 she was a Olympic bronze medalist. No stranger to winning, she has known weightlifting all of her life; however, knowing that one day she will have to retire, Haworth struggles to find the answer of what will come next. In a documentary by director Julie Wyman, Strong! explores the dramatic hardships Haworth has to face by having a body that is celebrated within the confines of her sport, yet shunned by mainstream culture.
