PARANORMAN KODI SMIT-MCPHEE INTERVIEW (Exclusive Video) - Kodi Smit-McPhee is the voice Norman Babcock in Focus Features ParaNorman. ParaNorman is the story of Norman a misunderstood boy who can speak with the dead. Screenslam sat down with the young actor and spoke about how he got the role, recording the voice, the story, the message in the movie, his idol and his future career.
On Recording the voice:
“Getting emotions out through your voice it really just doing the same kind of thing as when your on set, its just do the same actions, everything that you would do because then it’s just going to naturally come out that way.”
On the message in the movie:
“The issues I guess we’re dealing with is probably first bullying and it’s a very big thing right now and I think it needs to stop, people just being who they are they shouldn’t be treated any differently because we’re all so different, so anyone who’s different they should be treated if anything better because thats what we all want, we all want to be different.
PLOT: A small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst of all, moronic grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.
