SUPERMAN KRYPTONITE – Henry Cavill is the newest actor to wear the famous “S” on his chest; however, he will play Superman a little differently then actors in the past. Director Zack Snyder revealed in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that Superman in Man of Steel will have new flaws and vulnerabilities. The most famous vulnerability however will be missing, “I’ll be honest with you, there’s no Kryptonite in the movie,” says Snyder. Cavill adds to it slighty, “Although he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties.”
The full article out in May also uncovers that even on Krypton, young Kal-El was a special child, whose birth was cause for alarm on his home planet. It should be very interesting to see how this superhero movie shapes up. Maybe with no green rock to stop him, Superman may be more like the Dark Knight in terms of the emotional weight that he carries. Man of Steel also stars Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Russell Crowe.
PLOT: A young journalist raised by his adoptive parents after he was transported to Earth in infancy from the dying planet of Krypton finds himself in the position to save humankind after Earth is attacked.
