THE MASTER MOVIE TEASER (Video) – Academy Award-nominated director Paul Thomas Anderson reunites with Philip Seymour Hoffman and co-stars Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams in the upcoming film The Master, which is set to be released on October 12, 2012 in the U.S. The teaser features Joaquin Phoenix’s return to film since his controversial documentary, I’m Still Here. The story, which is centered on the relationship between the founder of the faith-based religion and his right-hand man, has been compared to the origins of Scientology.
PLOT: Set in the 1950s, a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” (Hoffman) launches a faith-based organization following World War II, which begins to catch on in America. A drifter (Phoenix) becomes his right-hand man but as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the drifter finds himself questioning the belief system and his mentor.
