WEEKEND BOX OFFICE – Brave became Pixar’s thirteenth film to open in first place. The movie also scored the second-highest June opening for an animated film, first place belongs to Toy Story 3. Unfortunately, Brave didn’t come close to its $210 million budget, making it Pixar’s most expensive movie to date.
Other movies that opened this weekend were Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which landed third place with $16.5 million, and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, which landed in tenth place with $3.84 million.
