ANNA KENDRINK PARANORMAN INTERVIEW (Exclusive Video) - Anna Kendrick voices Courtney in Sam Fell and Chris Butler‘s stop-motion ParaNorman. Courtney is the the superficial teenage sister of the movie lead character Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a misunderstood boy, who can speak with the dead. ParaNorman is the story of a small town that comes under siege by zombies. Screenslam sat down with Anna Kendrick who spoke about working on her first animated movie, her character, Courtney and Norman’s relationship and the look of ParaNorman.
On her first animated movie:
“I was really excited about it because I’ve always wanted to do an animated film and it happened to be this really lovely, special project and script. I was at how physical it really was, you wouldn’t think there would be much physicality because it’s just your voice but actually I found myself doing a lot of kinda weird arm stuff.”
On the look of ParaNorman:
“It’s such a visually stunning movie and a beautiful piece of art, the script is lovely and and I think the performances are lovely and then it happens to be through the medium of this kinda of very specific pain-staking process and the great thing about this art form is that the people that do it have to love it, they have to be really passionate about it otherwise they’d go completely insane.”
